Yes, Mexico is known for it's famous for its beaches and tourist attractions, however you would not want to miss out on the cultural excitement that might impact your life forever. One of the most known cultural spots is the Pyramid of the Sun, which was built in Teotihuacan around 100 AD and is the second largest pyramid anywhere in Mexico. Also found in this site is the Pyramid of the Moon which was started 100 years later and finished in 450 AD. The Teotihuacan Empire eventually met its demise, but the site was used and honored by the Aztecs, and becoming a place of pilgrimage. Another place you could visit in Mexico is Oaxaca. Oaxaca a state in southern Mexico, which is known for its indigenous cultures. Its capital city is noted for colonial buildings often made of green volcanic stone. Oaxaca is situated 5,000 feet above sea level, is centered around a traditional town square, and surrounded by the Sierra Madre del Sur mountain range. Mexican cuisine, vibrant markets and native customs make Oaxaca ideal for immersion in the country's culture.

Also there is Chichen Itza. Chichen Itza is the largest of the Maya cities in the Yucatan Peninsula, and one of Mexico’s most visited tourist destinations. The most famous landmark of Chichen Itza is the temple-pyramid of El Castillo. The design of the temple has special astronomical significance. Each face of the pyramid has a stairway with 91 steps, which together with the shared step at the top, add up to 365, which is also the number of days in a year. Both of these places would be wonderful to quench your cultural desire.

Next on our list is Palenque. Palenque is an archaeological site that was located on the western edge of the Maya empire in Chiapas, Mexico. Palenque is much smaller than some of its Mayan neighbor cities, but it contains some of the finest architecture and sculptures the Maya ever produced. Most structures in Palenque date from about 600 AD to 800 AD including the Temple of Inscriptions, which is the only Mesoamerican pyramid built as a funerary monument.
